Carrier Sales Manager Chicago, IL

About You

We are looking for an experienced Carrier Sales Manager to join our growing team in our Chicago office. The primary purpose of the position is to book Truckload freight shipments and coordinate communication between the shipper, carrier and consignee. The ideal candidate understands the key to success will be establishing and building relationships with both new and existing carriers.

Essential Functions

  • Carrier sales and rate negotiations
  • Dispatch high volume of freight (Van, Flatbed, Reefer – Truckload)
  • Evaluate shipments and select most cost-effective method of delivery
  • Demonstrate solid decision-making skills and ability to prioritize ever-changing daily tasks through smart-action based critical thinking
  • Responsible for cost containment of shipment
  • A natural on the phone with the ability to connect each and every time
  • Develop and align relevant relationships with clients, understand their priorities and identify business opportunities driving account growth
  • Proactive problem solver who comes to the table with solutions
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with carriers
  • Coordinate efforts and communication with sales department
  • Extensive contract and pricing negotiation
  • Projects as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • FUN, POSITIVE, MOTIVATED, WITH A RESPONSIBLE WORK ATTITUDE
  • Minimum two years 3PL – Truckload brokerage experience required
  • Relationship builder with extensive Carrier Sales experience
  • Calm under pressure and can turn fun out of what others see as chaos
  • Critical thinker who is results driven
  • A team player who is in it for the greater good of the organization
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and other operational systems
  • Excellent customer service, communication and negotiation skills

National Account Sales Executive Palatine, IL & Chicago, IL

We are looking for experienced and talented National Account Sales Executives to join the growing team in our Palatine and downtown Chicago offices. The primary purpose of the position is to actively sell our solutions-driven approach to integrated logistics in the transportation industry while building and growing a book of business. The ideal candidate understands the key to success requires persistence, being proactive and a strong desire to not only meet, but exceed their goals.

Essential Functions

  • Develops new business accounts and increases volume with existing accounts
  • Development of account sales plans to achieve sales goal
  • Builds relationships with each account
  • Meets with current and potential qualified accounts
  • Actively cold calls and develops new sales leads daily
  • Research all potential accounts via the internet and the Industrial Directory
  • Contacts accounts to qualify the account, identify the customers’ needs, and work with C-level decision makers
  • Updates and modifies accounts and prospects to Salesforce
  • Prepares sales presentations
  • Thoroughly manages each account to keep them satisfied and resolve any difficulties including receivables
  • Communicates with New Age’s operational employees to ensure the customer’s needs are met
  • Attends weekly sales meeting

About You

We are looking for an Operations Coordinator to join our rapidly growing team. Someone who is both proactive and responsive to the needs of our customers, facilitates a high level of customer satisfaction, and is eager to take a leadership role in actively exceeding customer expectations.

Operations Coordinators are responsible for managing the day to day tasks and operations for our customers and developing relationships internally and externally to ensure these accounts are growing and are being serviced correctly. The daily tasks for an Operations Coordinator are forever changing depending on the day, however include (but not limited to) building loads, scheduling loads with facilities, problem solving and ensuring the proper service is being provided to the customer through excellent communication both internally and externally. As an Operations Coordinator on our team, the following is what you (and we) can expect to be performed with service and profitability in mind:

  • Accept, build, & schedule all customer shipments accurately with all necessary load information and documentation.
  • Schedule loads as quickly as possible, and relay any issues that might impact service
  • Understand ins & outs of customer portals/emails and processes to ensure accurate information and service requirements are being met.
  • Manage daily load board and take responsibility to ensure the loads are being serviced and covered in a timely manner.
    • Communication between yourself and the carrier floor is a priority.
  • Tracking internally and communicating externally. Obtain updates from the carrier (driver or dispatch) and then provide timely updates to the customer on any tracking issues or pro-actively updating the customer on their shipment.
  • Prioritizing and communicating both internally and externally any requests or issues in a professional manner.
  • Problem solving. Identify potential problems prior to them occurring and come up with a solution or escalate as needed.
  • Learn and understand market and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with your team, as well as management to identify ways to improve processes within your accounts/team as well as New Age collectively.

As we enter a time of rapid growth, we know more now so than ever who we add to our roster is of the utmost importance. To help fuel our roster of top talent, New Age is on the hunt for an experienced Recruiting and Training Manager to join our team. We’re looking for someone who can recruit both on the corporate and collegiate level and can serve as the face of our brand from the first introductory call to the hired candidates first day (and somewhat beyond) at New Age. Someone who is both proactive and responsive to the needs of our business as we grow, facilitates a high level of industry knowledge and understanding, and is eager to take a leadership role in actively exceeding our growth expectations.

Recruiting and Training Managers are skilled in the art of finding the best possible talent for roles across the 3 pillars of our business (Sales, Operations & Carrier Sales) and will work with directly with Sr. Leadership to better understand who we need, when we need them and what they’ll do when they get here. In your role you’ll not only learn what makes us tick, but what our Managers are looking for in their next all-star teammate.

Finding great talent is one (very important) part, but so too is the onboarding phase, and that’s where the training side comes into play. As we bring on new hires together, you’ll work with our Director of Operations to ensure each individual starts off on the right foot to their future career here at New Age.

As a Recruiting and Training Manager on our team, the following is what you (and we) can expect to be performed with service in mind:

  • Have a working relationship with Sr. Leadership to listen and explore all open and potential roles within New Age
  • Learn and understand our business and SOP’s so you can find the right person with the right experience and skillsets
  • Know where to find the right talent for the role(s) we’re searching for, whether online or in person, from the experienced to the green.
  • Be willing to travel to college campuses, job fairs and local events to put out the New Age name in the best light possible
  • Help with onboarding and the training phase

Skills, Characteristics & Experience

  • You’re someone people both want to and enjoy talking to. After all, you are the first impression being made!
  • You’ve done this before, so you can hit the ground running (ideally 2+ year experience)
  • We’re running fast, so you’re going to need to both multitask and prioritize what needs to get done
  • It’s certainly not chaos here, but you’re going to need to work under pressure with a positive, motivated and responsible work attitude
  • Be a team player, while being just as proactive as you are reactive
  • Effective professional communication both written and oral
  • Good organizational, time management, problem-solving and to work accurately, meeting deadlines
